I gave up with the map some time ago. Only photos taken on my phone seem to map more or less correctly, but even then it throws up some weird results (like towns 100 miles away)...
I generally put location details in my description if I think it’s relevant.
Sorry.....

Can’t you just go to the Map in Organizer, zoom in to the right location and drag a thumbnail onto it?

i tried the maps on Flickr, but found them to be quite erratic with location accuracy. if I ever wish to provide location info, I now provide an os map reference , and a link to os maps (free) in the photo description. As demonstrated in this pic.

There's no typing involved. See Viejito's comment above. The only downside is the map will frequently label the shot with some obsolete neighborhood name that no one's ever heard of.

Not on iPad apparently. Just tried again and I ended up in the North Sea. Could be me, could be aliens, I’m not hugely bothered myself but the OP did ask...

Typing is good. If I can operate a digital camera and associated software I can type. 😉

That's what I do. I just drag & drop the photos into the map but like others have stated the location accuracy isn't very good.
Unfortunately Flickr stopped using Yahoo Maps a long ago which didn't have these problems.

Specific address or postal code won't work. They used to work but stopped a couple of years ago.
What I found (quite by accident) works is to search for a city or town name on the map. That brings up every place with that name. Choose the one you're interested in and pan/zoom to put the photo where you want on the map. This works for the US. I haven't tried for other countries. Flickr's maps work much better with Chrome than with Firefox.

others have stated the location accuracy isn't very good. Did you zoom the map in to maximum magnification before you dragged them?
