Embed slideshow

Jim Lambie says:

Hey all,

Are we still able to do this? I embedded the Flash based Flickr slideshow for years, but now that Flash has been discontinued...

I've searched around but can't seem to find any up to date info.

Thanks in advance!

The Flickr slideshows have been working without Flash in pretty long time now. But I just checked one of my (non-Flash) embedded slideshows on www.rockland.dk/show/?post=399 and it is also broken!

It seems to be a config error on embedr.flickr.com site. From my browser's console I can see the URL embedr.flickr.com/photosets/72157653053515484?width=688&a...; is called and returns a "403 Forbidden" error.

But to answer your question about embedding in general: Yes, you can (normally) share an album (without Flash being required) using the Share button in Album-header and copy the html code from the Embed tab to create a slideshow. But right now those embedded slideshows doesn't seem to work.

Thanks. Bad news about the non flash embedded slideshows not working. Flash isn't an option anymore so that precludes that. Wonder if anyone know of a workaround?

Jimmy_L:

To be clear, Flickr DOES offer slideshows that works without Flash. As mention above, use the Share-button in album-headers and copy the embed-code.

However also Flickr's current slideshow feature fails today. It has nothing to do with Flash, it is an error which must have occurred only recently. And when Flickr fixes that error, the slideshows created via the share-button should start work again...

I suggest you add a "[BUG]" prefix to title of this thread, to make it easier to Flickr support to see that this thread can be regarded as a bug-rapport. Hopefully then, Flickr will fix the problem soon.

Hmm, it's some time ago I have created a thread here myself. So cannot remember how you do it. Maybe they have removed the option.

But Flickr will probably see it anyway. They seem to monitor the help threads rather thoroughly and often these days.
