[Resolved] Flickr albums embeded on multiple websites not displaying

citizenstheatre says:

I have noticed today that Flickr albums embeded on three different websites of ours are not displaying (a blogger, umbraco and express engine site).

www.citz.co.uk/whatson/info/fibres-online-streaming/archived
citizenstheatre.blogspot.com/2021/01/graham-sutherland-on...
fibresfilm.co.uk/behind-the-scenes

Nothing has changed within any of our sites but we use Flickr album embeds regularly. Could anyone advise?

This problem seems to also occur when linking to an album in Twitter.

Twitter properly displays the album's poster image, but when clicking on the image to advance to the next photo, you receive a "Forbidden" error.

The Twitter Card Validator log says --

INFO: Page fetched successfully
INFO: 44 metatags were found
INFO: twitter:card = player tag found
INFO: Card loaded successfully

-- which looks good. But it the slideshow fails.

Linking to a Flickr album in Twitter seems to be functioning correctly now, displaying a slideshow of the images as previously.

When I embed an album to my site, it seems to be lacking the slideshow function. Never had this issue when it was flash based. Am I missing something? Are there instructions?

You mean "auto-play"? No, that is not part of the non-Flash slideshow, which was launched over 5 years ago.
I know it is over 5 years ago, because I posted my first in July 2015. Below it I wrote (translated):

Testing Flickr's latest version of their "html embed" slideshow code. No full screen mode, no autoplay, big ugly paging buttons and Flickr logo.
It's good thing with license shown in the corner, however it does not work as link? Flash or other 3rd party technology is NOT required, but ... room for improvement.
Maybe they get it adjusted over time? ...

Maybe they have improved it a tiny bit since launch, but basically I think my "review" from back then still counts.

But personally I say if they add auto-play there also needs to be a way to adjust speed. Otherwise I prefer the manual back/forward controls (I never use Flickr's build-in autoplay slideshow, it is much much too fast for me to get any enjoyment from).

Hi all,

Our engineers did identify an issue related to embedding albums. We have pushed out a fix.

Please let us know if you are continuing to experience issues here, or feel free to reach out to our Support Heroes here.

The embed slideshow option only appears when I open the first picture in an album. When I choose that and embed the code, I only end up with one image displayed. What step am I missing? Thanks!

Replying to my own question lol.

Problem partially solved. Uploaded the share code to the server and now it's functional (as opposed to local testing).

The new issue seems to be that it stalls out at 11 images. This is from 2 separate Flickr accounts with Albums containing 70+ images.

Is this a limitation placed on the function or another bug?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for everyone's patience as we worked to get this fixed-- closing this thread as resolved.

Jim Lambie:

Thanks for the update. Looks like the issue you're running into falls outside the reported bug. I see you're in touch with Ryan from our Support team directly-- he'll be able to continue troubleshooting with you!
