Flickr account status?

tvättmaskinen says:

At my settings, it says I have a free account and I get ads instead of photos (in my own photostream). I have never ever seen that before.

Is there something malfunctioning right now?

I don't see a "pro" icon next to your name, so that should mean that you have a free account, with ads interspaced in your photostream.

Actually when incognito, I see ads just below every single image in the OPs photostream. I guess that's the way it's done these days.

Wow, that is more awful than I ever imagined Flickr ads to be. Is it newly more awful, or has it been that way for a while?

I've just looked through some of the OP's stream while logged out on a couple of browsers.
The browsers are Chrome and Edge. Neither of these are my usual browser, and (to the best of my knowledge) I do not have ad-blockers running on either of them. I do, however, block cookies for personalised adverts wherever I am given that option (including Flickr).

On both of these browsers the results were the same.
I did not see ads, but after every five photos I was presented with a blank photo-space on which was a clickable link stating "Upgrade to Flickr Pro to hide these ads" - but I was not actually presented with any advertisements.
Also, I see exactly the same clickable link on each photopage (but no actual advertisement). I see this on the right side of the page immediately beneath the EXIF info and map and above the 'Additional info' section of the page.

I have no idea what significance any of this might have, or how it relates (if indeed it does) to what anyone else is seeing.
But could the presence of advertisements (as opposed to the simple links that I am seeing) perhaps be geographically-based, or perhaps browser dependent?

As far as I know, I have been pro for more than 10 years. I have seen the prices rise for every year, basically..

Not sure why you would edit my original message, but I really shouldn't be seeing ads when browsing my own photos.

As John said in his first response, the account from which you are posting here appears to be a free account. You don't have a 'Pro' badge next to your name.
Likewise, you don't have the badge next to your name on your pages.

So it's not surprising that you're seeing advertisements, or that others (logged out or from free accounts) see them whilst browsing your photostream.

Are you absolutely certain that you don't have a second account for which you are paying?

It is possible, of course, that this could be caused by a glitch at Flickr's end, but you do need to check everything you can at your end.

As far as e-mail from staff is concerned, check your e-mail spam folders and also check that you have a working (and monitored) address associated with the account from which you are posting here.

Did you check the inbox and the junk mail folder of the email account you use to log in?

It is clearly stated that it was for language. Language, you know, words. You may have used words staff objected to.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you have not received my message.

I kindly advise you to make contact with staff here, who will be able to help with your Pro status.

To clarify your post was edited due to inappropriate language.

As this thread relates to a billing issue I am now closing this thread.

Thanks!
