Photos with captions can't be viewed from albums or photostream

transitpeople says:

When not logged in, I can view my Flickr photos and captions from a direct link, such as:

Casa Gaietà Vila and Church of Sant Esteve in Olot, Catalonia, Spain by transitpeople

If I click on the same photo from the photostream or in a photo album, I get:

Bad, bad panda!
Come on. We want photos.
We’re aware of the problem and are fixing it. Thanks for your patience.

Another example:

The direct link at:
Tulips in bloom at the Botanic Garden in Munich, Germany by transitpeople

shows both the photo and the caption.

But clicking on the photo from the 'Munich' photo album produces:

Bad, bad panda!
Come on. We want photos.
We’re aware of the problem and are fixing it. Thanks for your patience.

In the past, 'bad panda' messages have indicated short-term Flickr malfunctions. Not this time. The error has persisted for several days.

I checked two of your photos, one from the photostream and the other from an album. Both worked without any problem. Check this page for possible solutions: help.flickr.com/en_us/fix-problems-with-flickr-not-workin...

Thanks for the response, ernstkers.

I checked again with a stripped browser, after a reboot. The symptoms are unchanged ... but with one important qualification: I do _not_ have a problem viewing from albums or the photostream if I am logged into Flickr.

The problem occurs only when _not_ logged in. A direct link to the photo works; if I attempt to view from an album or photostream, the photo _starts_ to load, then dumps to the Bad, Bad panda screen.

This is a significant change for me, as I'd like users who don't have Flickr accounts to be able to see my photos, too!

Dear Flickr,

Please stop blaming the Panda. I have an intermittent problem viewing images. It's only around one image in ten but it's annoying. Why not present some diagnostics? The message suggests that you are working on the problem, but it has been several days. Is it a server problem? A browser problem? A Panda problem?

Please drop this childish Panda screen and tell us what's going on.

Hi, all,

Sorry to hear you can not view photos when not logged in.

We do have an existing thread on this issue:

[Investigating] non Flickr members can't see my pics

Our engineers are currently investigating and working to correct. We will continue to post updates in the ongoing thread linked above.

Thanks
