Anyone else miss the mute button on the Recent Activity page?

Formerly known as Bigbend700 says:

When viewing photos in Recent Activity, I could scroll and mute the photos I was no longer interested in. The red mute button was handy, but its been replaced.

Now I have to go to the Notifications page and mute. An extra step to take and not as handy.
Wish Flickr left the red mute button alone.

Yes, the red button has been missing since this morning.

Not for me, it's still in the same place as it ever was, top right hand corner, if I put the pointer on that photo's section and it turns light bluish-grey.

Is it really gone? My RA page is different/flaky today. There are navigation arrows at the bottom now. And things appearing from 25 months ago.

Maybe the missing mute button for some users can te traced back to the general snafu on the RA page:

I just noted I had muted one of my images.. a long time ago.

Never seen the mute button for a long time

You would have to scroll down and see a mute button alongside each image as you scrolled, for it to work.

The mute button is still there for me when I hover my cursor over the relevant part of the page, exactly where it used to be.

For me, too, because I am not part of the new notification roll-out.

The mute is missing for me as well. Using the latest Firefox. If this is an intentional change, it makes no sense.

Pretty ridiculous. Because there was no way to mute it from the new notifications page, I literally went into the hundreds of comments of a photo I commented on 15 years ago, found my only comment, deleted it, and the photo was still showing on my RECENT ACTIVITY: REPLIES TO MY COMMENTS page. I had to block the Flickr member that posted that photo to finally get it off of my RECENT ACTIVITY: REPLIES TO MY COMMENTS page.

I sure hope this is not how this is supposed to work now. I've pretty much wandered away from Flickr as of late due to all the denigrated features and clap trap.

And tell me again, exactly why photos that I commented on that I have muted are now showing up on my RECENT ACTIVITY: REPLIES TO MY COMMENTS page???

What was the point in muting them, when you are now displaying them again on my RECENT ACTIVITY: REPLIES TO MY COMMENTS page, even though they are still showing as muted when I check on my NOTIFICATIONS PAGE.

The red button and the comments button appear on my iPad Chrome but you have to first tap the text description to the right of the thumbnail it the thumbnail itself, which causes some dropdown selections to choose Albums, About, Photostream etc…

Makes no sense to me to lose this function. One touch operation so simple to use. Change for the better is good, but fixing it until it`s broke for the sake of changing something is not good.

A few days later and I still have the same problem. The red mute button no longer shows on the RA page. Photos that I want to mute do not show in the Notifications page. Photos that I have muted in the past are now showing on my RA page.

What a mess!

I'm not sure if flickr is going to correct any of this.

As Viejito mentioned-- the discussed here is related directly to the recent updates to the Notification Center.

If you notice that previous items you muted are showing up for you with new reactions in Recent Activity, this is due to the way the archiving data is stored. If you want to mute comments on a particular photo/video, for example, you’ll need to do that in the new Notifications to have it work on Recent Activity. This backwards compatibility from the new Notifications to Recent Activity is one way, which means that if you mute a thread in the new Notifications, it will also mute in Recent Activity. This won't work the other way around where a mute in Recent Activity would carry into the new Notifications.

In efforts to keep all feedback around this update in one place, we ask that the conversation continues in the official thread:

[Updated August 19 with Archiving Old Content] Rollout of New Flickr Notifications Center and Settings

Thanks for understanding!
