Recent Activity change: No longer able to 'mute' a picture.

Razor Cure says:

I don't pay ANY attention to the various notification things, like email alerts etc. I just open the Recent Activity in my browser, and look that way.
Previously, if I commented on someone ELSE's pic, then said pic got another comment (or a reply to my comment), it would appear in my recent activity.
Makes sense.
Then I could click the lil minimise option for THAT specific picture, in my recent activity. This let me hide further comments on that pic, because after I comment and get a reply..I really dont care what others say!

But now, the minimise is gone, and ALL I can do is...Add a Comment..to a pic I already commented on! This seems super stupid, as I could (before this change) just open the pic and reply.

Is there any way to hide or minimise other people's pictures now, as there was yesterday?

PS. LOL, the change is so dumb. Clicking the new lil 'add comment' from Recent Activity..just flat out TAKES you to that picture anyway. I figured it would let you just add the comment while still 'in' your recent activity. But no, I guess that would be to logical.

Or they may have been trying to avoid that. Since this is a photography site, the purpose might be that you go to the page where the photo shows a little larger, with the photographer’s description, with possibly a map, EXIF data, appropriate tags and/or comments by people who saw the photo before you did... rather than just blurting something out from a distance at the sight of a thumbnail and moving on without really having seen the photo.

Razor Cure:

As Mag3737 mentioned-- this is related directly to the recent updates to the new Notification Center.

If you want to mute comments on a particular photo/video, for example, you’ll need to do that in the new Notifications to have it work on Recent Activity. This backwards compatibility from the new Notifications to Recent Activity is one way, which means that if you mute a thread in the new Notifications, it will also mute in Recent Activity. This won't work the other way around where a mute in Recent Activity would carry into the new Notifications.

As we are trying to keep all the feedback in one place , I kindly ask that the conversation continues in the official thread:

[Updated August 19 with Archiving Old Content] Rollout of New Flickr Notifications Center and Settings

Thanks!
