Group admins passed away

Gary S Bond says:

I know this question has been asked before but I'm wondering if there has been any further developments I may have missed.

I noticed some of the groups I'm a member of have recently been taken over by a new admin after the previous one/ones have been inactive, hence my query.

One group I'm a member of has been pretty active for a number of years with a number of contributors. Sadly, the admin of the group passed away a few months ago whilst one other admin has also sadly passed away and another is inactive.
Any photos submitted to the group have to be approved and it would be a shame to see the group go to waste.

Is there any way for a new admin to take over the group or is it the same situation as previous?

Having noted where you live, I’m pretty sure I know the Group to which you are referring. An excellent Group of which I am a long time member and had over 150 photo accepted into the Group. I live just 8 miles north of the City.

Over the past few weeks I have taken admin of several Flickr groups and it is a very easy easy process. Sometimes the transfer has been made in as little as 3 hours and I find the Flickr staff that deal with this extremely helpful.

If needs be, I would be willing to assist with the Group in any way..

Do any of the departed have memorial accounts? Flickr will preserve a member's account with proof of death such as a published article or obituary.
