What has happened last night?

Kombizz says:

I had a very horrible night with logging into my account.
ALL OF THE TIME, it was giving me ERROR. Then after so many attempts, I GAVE it UP.
What was wrong with Flickr?
Was it hacked by some sort of mafia?
Would be nice to have a strong team of computer experts in Flickr team to deal with these kind of events.
Please write me if you had that sort of problem last night.
Thanks

Kombizz: AWS went down for a while which Flickr uses.

Just about half of America was down for a while there, or at least it felt that way.

Thank you Thomas for the link.
Then do we need to anticipate more of these mishaps in the next year 2022 and beyond?

Kombizz:

It's probably worth noting that AWS is run by Amazon and Flickr has no control over that.

But Flickr relies on AWS (Amazon Web Services) so any problems there directly affects it. A lot of eggs in the AWS basket, never a good idea.

I have a cunning plan. If you can't access flickr shrug your shoulders. Go outside. Listen to the birds. Plant a seed. There is no reason to fear the big light in the sky. It has been there since before Earth was formed and has not (yet) fallen onto anyone's head.

Yet even better:
Enjoy the outdoors, take some photos and show them @flickr later on. ☺
