The person in the banner shot is my mate Alan, it's me in the circle.. We tried to get to the Lake District together on numerous occasions but his health (or rather lack of it) kept getting in the way. We eventually made it for a couple of nights & I was able to show him some wonderful places, some off the beaten track, which were new to him. We had great weather (cold and clear) until the afternoon we travelled home, and Alan was as happy as a pig in muck every minute of it.

Just one week later, I got an early morning call from his wife to say that Alan had passed away in the night. Earth is a sadder place, but heaven a happier one.

Ok something about me - I suffer from the delusion that I'm relatively young, however my body ever more frequently disagrees.

Most of my stuff is landscape/nature and tends to be shots that I find rather than ones that I've planned and my preference is to travel light. Since I like to have a bit of banter with my contacts, I don't have a massive number.

Thanks for popping by, I hope that you enjoyed the visit and will return. Take care, Roy.

ps If for some reason you're interested in my back catalogue ie the shots that I "lost" when Flickr was taken over by Smugmug, it can be found in odell_rd1 (the oldest shots), odell_rd2 and odell_rd3.

Roy's unique vision of the world is an inspiration. He has a great sense of humour and I look forward to reading his comments every day. His comments often bring a smile to my face but he is also very helpful with critiques when needed. A more faithful flickr contact, you could not ask for. Keep up the great work Roy.
