Landscape and nature photography is my biggest passion: I can’t think of a more rewarding experience than watching (and capturing) the beauty of nature in all its different forms. I’ve joined Flickr to share this passion with you.

Summer Hills

As a physicist having lived in the Freiburg area in southern Germany for six years I have enjoyed some incredible landscapes almost out on my doorstep. The idyllic Schwarzwald (“Black Forest”) and the beautiful Kaiserstuhl are some of the places I regularly visit for photographing. Most of my images in my photostream come from those areas, but now, after having moved to Mannheim, I will also add photos from new locations. I also like to travel a lot and always have my camera(s) with me.

While my subjects originate from all of nature I’m a big lover of waterfalls. This is why I have begun a “Black Forest Waterfalls” series where I will visit all the waterfalls in the “Black Forest” over time (there are over 100 – some smaller, some bigger). You can find this ongoing series in my collection of sets with some details on the specific falls. There you will also find sets on my travel photography from locations like Lanzarote, or Morocco .

Water World Through a Jungle

I want to make your viewing experiences as comfortable as possible, that’s why you can view all my photos in their original resolution without restrictions like watermarks. Almost all my photos are licensed under a Creative Commons license, allowing you to use them for personal, non-commercial purposes. If you want to do so, I would be pleased if you notify me. I also sell some of my images at Getty Images.

While I really enjoy reading your positive comments, I’m also looking forward to (constructive) criticism. My goal is to steadily improve my photography skills, so please don’t be shy about stating details you don’t like. I also like to state my own ideas and suggestions to you and try to comment more extensive.

My contacts are very important to me and I like to take enough time to regularly visit their photostreams and comment on their work. That’s why I try to keep them at a number I can still handle. Please don’t be disappointed if I don’t add you as a contact rightaway, but I will regularly look at your photos and comment on them. For me it’s important to have a mutual relationship where both sides get some inspiration, new ideas or better understanding.

But enough words… Enjoy my photostream!

These are some of my own favorites:

Enter the Winter Wonderland

No Escape Fall Colors

An End and a Beginning
