I started taking photos as a child with cameras my father gave me when he was buying a new one. Taking photos of friends, landscapes and other items...

Soon I was addicted to climbing and mountaineering too. So it seems natural when I started to take photos more seriously, I took photos of climbers but I ever had an affection to landscape from the beginning.

Techniques may come and go, but a good photo will be a good photo, however it is captured, analog or digital. Nonetheless, still I'm fascinated of many analog shots, maybe because with perfect exposition you don't have so much to work out later (at least with slide film, regarding B&W, I still love to work in the darkroom when I have the time). But surely, I do a lot of work digital, all the work where time matters and basically I decide on my own when I go digital or analog - there's no ideology.

A good reason for film for me are the magic colours created by a material like Fuji Velvia. Digital it's gets very arbitrary, depending how much you change the given parameters in post processing.

Large format is a niche which I love. Done with concentration, one can get fantastic results (I hope sometimes I have the luck to get some too :-).

After taking photos for so long I started to make finart prints of the best ones in limited editions and presenting some selection here at Flickr. There are still al lot of analog shots to be scanned and presented. And of course, I do new shots too.

If you can enjoy my photos I'll be glad for a feedback, but I'll be open for critics too, because nobody's perfect!

I think the best what Flickr can offer is that one can get feedback from many people, my subjective view sometimes differs distinctly from the view of others.

Nice to meet you here! Bernhard
