It takes a lot of time and effort to produce half decent macro images and even though I don't watermark my pics I'd appreciate if you contact me via Flickr Mail if you want to use any of the photos on this site.

My general approach is this:

1. If your use is for non-profit purposes there is no charge.

2. If your use is for a field guide meant for educational purposes or to serve the betterment of the field of Entomology then there is no charge but I'd love to see the photo in print. Hard copy or soft copy is fine.

3. If you sell a book or run a project that generates a profit for you and is not self-funded then we would need to agree on an acceptable compensation.

Some background about me:

I'm currently living and working in Singapore but not from this part of the world originally. I've always been interested in photography and nature but fell into insect macro photography by accident. There are still patches of primeval rainforest here in Singapore even though it's a very small and built up city so luckily there are places to go to photograph insects on the weekends. Singapore is also within easy reach of the Malaysian and Indonesian rainforests.

My recent push has been to improve the lighting of my macro photos to get more natural looking images. I've dabbled with tripod field focus stacking but gave up because we really don't have cold mornings here in the tropics at any time of the year and the insects are way too active to stack. Right now I only do full flash handheld macro.

I do macro photography for fun and relaxation and to get myself outdoors and of course the challenge of getting better images.

All my shots are of insects in their natural habitat. As much as possible I try not to disturb them. I don't collect insects or manipulate them for the photo. I'm grateful to anyone who can provide IDs for any insect shown or correct me if I've labelled something wrong.

Unfortunately I'm not set up with the required permits to collect specimens for overseas shipment.
