“HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS”

For this ol’ boy, home is Texas. My philosophy is: Living – enjoying the life passed on by the past six generations to my family for which we are grateful and proud. Living in a valley out in west Texas surrounded by hills (Yes, we call 'em hills though other prefer the term mountains; everything's bigger in Texas) where my family has lived the kind of life not fit for most but definitely my nemesis! My gallery is a collection of photos taken by every member in our circle of friends – family for the simple pleasure of sharing - enjoying moments we call ordinary in the larger scheme but very special for each one of us…photos I share with family or friends for specific reasons.

I am not a photographer, I’ve never claimed to be one. I am simply sharing those moments in life with some sort of significance according to our point of view - perspective. Family is very important to me; family is the foundation of our society; seemingly in search of something which we’ve already found … basic life, basic living for simple folks. Most photos in my gallery are for family & friends therefore my FLICKR name.

Please enjoy our collection, be kind – respectful; the golden rule is our motto in life and we subscribe daily: Treat others as one would like to be treated. Believe me when I say: Love never fails!

In the words of my brother who calls me: “My kick ass buddy” “Enjoy life bro, it is an affair worth ♪♪♪♪remembering!

January 2017 [https://www.flickr.com/photos/saddleman] I was referred to your collection by someone who thinks the world of you due to your family love-values; your work ethics and most of all your love/respect for life. Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do which in your case is the same. A favorite quote of yours is: A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work. Friendship is one of life's greatest treasures. Friends that are loyal are always there to make you laugh when you are down, they are not afraid to help you avoid mistakes and they look out for your best interest. This kind of friend can be hard to find, but they offer a friendship that will last a lifetime. Other friends may not be quite as loving. The pain caused by a friendship marred by betrayal is not easy to overcome. In fact, many poems find their inspiration from the joy brought about by a loving friendship or the pain caused by a failed friendship. Best Friends means different things to different people. Some insist that you can have only one best friend. Others assert that they have best friends for different aspects of their personalities. Whatever the precise definition, your best friend is the person who gets you. They understand who you are and what you are saying. The greatest distance cannot separate best friends. You will always feel a kinship with them, and be able to instantly continue the friendship even after not talking for many years. The above words come from that someone who referred me to your gallery. It's been a pleasure to be part of your circle of friends.

Y… LA VIDA ES MUCHO… ¡para ser insignificante! ....

I read a poem once my friend; sums up what you project from my angle of view every time I visit your gallery... Every cowboy has one, Just like his hat, boots and jeans. It's a part of his genetic make-up, This thing called a Cowboy's Dream. Now this dream has many sections, And each section has just as many parts. But the end result leads to a cowboy's toughest feature, Located smack dab in the middle of his heart. Now give the cowboy credit, Cause he'll try his damnedest not to show it. But most of us have been through it enough, To speak in detail about how we know it. His vision of perfect beauty, One that could steal his breath at any moment. A life put on hold and a mind on edge, By the reoccurring dream of that special woman. Within his life of solitude, A cowboy's mind is plagued with lots of time. Time spent on opinions he'll never use, And the girl he might never find. Most any cowboy has had his share, Of women along the way. And people will argue that he's just a player, Using those women in his sinister game. But that isn't true for the better of 'em, And if you could get him to speak he'd probably say. That his cowboy dream would be his perfect match, One from which he'll never stray. Her heart would be as big as his, Her soul at least twice or more. So sweet and rare, a desert jewel, Like a rose without the thorns. She'd smell like the mountain flowers, And her lips would hold the perfect taste. The desire she brings him makes the time without her, Time he's made to waste. Her eyes would dance with a million emotions, Changing no matter brown, green or blue. Her flowing hair straight from angels spindles, Taylor made to run hands through. And the curves of her luscious body. The one's at home in Wrangler's or a Sunday dress. Have a way to make the cleanest cowboy, Turn completely to a big old' mess. Of course, she'd possess a streak of toughness, Cause the hay needs bucking and those calves need a brand. And when it came to moments of passion, He would feel the tenderness in her hand. The cowboy dreams of rescuing his woman, From the hustle of today's stressful mix. This quiet knight could slay her dragon, And win her heart, which he would fix. In return she'd mend his wounds, Accustomed to all those rodeo falls. And as long as he was willing, her guarantee to him, Would be her by his side through it all. They'd spend their nights on an old porch swing, Embraced, as they gaze at the stars. Knowing their love is forever safe, Within each others arms. For years and years their fire would burn, Through all the nasty, stormy weather. And when it came time to end it all, The cowboy and her would take one last ride up to heaven together. Well sure as the cowboy was born to ride, He was also born to dream. All the women left in his wake, Will now know what he means. The cowboy has a way of hiding, Things he never wants to show. The most important being his broken heart, Which that special women could make whole. For years, it seems, he'll make the wait, Till he's able to slip out of 'dem jeans. When he'll crawl into bed, and rest his head, In the arms of his Cowboy Dream. Can you believe this western sky The clouds that often float right by The colors that show in the west As the Sun sets are the best No matter where you'll ever roam The west is where you will call home The freedoms that we do enjoy Are set from the past by a man called "Cowboy" They made the west from just plain dirt And from chasing around a gal in a skirt They used there pistols and shot guns And hoped that no matter the west would be won They rode on horses and wore big hats Chased cows and sheep can you believe that They fensed and worked the whole day long Until the daylight all was gone .....

The Bridge Builder An old man, going a lone highway, Came, at the evening, cold and gray, To a chasm, vast, and deep, and wide, Through which was flowing a sullen tide. The old man crossed in the twilight dim; The sullen stream had no fears for him; But he turned, when safe on the other side, And built a bridge to span the tide. "Old man," said a fellow pilgrim, near, "You are wasting strength with building here; Your journey will end with the ending day; You never again must pass this way; You have crossed the chasm, deep and wide- Why build you a bridge at the eventide?" The builder lifted his old gray head: "Good friend, in the path I have come," he said, "There followeth after me today, A youth, whose feet must pass this way. This chasm, that has been naught to me, To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be. He, too, must cross in the twilight dim; Good friend, I am building the bridge for him." ....

Stunning photography… That’s all that can be said here; pholography, is about making right decisions or knowing who to ask for help making the right decision. . .A "great" photographer then is someone who knows when and how to make a decision and has the courage or fortitude to see it in his mind and goes for it… Several types of photographers exist which we’ve seen time and again. One in particular producing the most beautiful images is the artist…The artist has or not (Unlike some of the other types of photographers such as the technical photographer. He is all about the equipment and the formulas. He can give you millimeters and focal lengths. There is the subject photographer. He takes photographs to study the object itself. He knows breeding habits, plumage differences, longitude and latitude.) An idea what he just photographed or how he photographed it, yet somehow creates the most pleasing pictures. Two additional traits a photographer must develop to become great are patience and perseverance. Amazing photographic moments do not often just drop into our lap. They are obtained because you walked that extra mile in the desert sun, because you sat ten more minutes waiting for the creature to emerge, because you rose up early to catch the best light. A photographer who continually expects to do things "when they want to at the time they want to" will miss a lot of good photographs. Patience also takes organization. Make a list of whatever you need to take along with you for your photo shoot. Discover what time of day animals are most active. Find out when the light will fall at the proper angle for that shot. Remember any filters or other equipment you might need. For studio shots, plan out your props. Part of being able to wait comes from not having to do other things that should have been done in advance. Nothing else can be more disturbing. Great photographers become great by developing their power of observation. Observation is really about finding the answers to such questions, and in finding the answers, making the process of observing a habit. You begin to notice things you used to pass by, and you're always examining your surroundings for possible photographs. Driving down the street, headed to lunch with friends, you see a photograph in a sign pressed against a brick building. You spot two toddlers sharing a toy in the park as their mothers look on and ask yourself how you would capture that moment. The shadows of clouds sweeping across a rolling meadow generate images in your mind. A photographer who cannot visualize photographs will never advance as a photographer. On the other hand, hitting a figurative roadblock happens to all of us. Every photographer feels he is up against a wall at some point in time, but you break out of these moments again through the power of observation. You recognize you're in one and you do the things necessary to re-spark your imagination. There are many great photographers out there, with always room for one more. There is no set number or limit. Any person who makes photographs, no matter what type or at what skill level, has in them the ability to an Ansel Adams or a Matthew Brady. For what truly makes someone a "great" photographer is not the money or the fame. It's not the equipment, the experiences, or the stories. It is that they have achieved the goals they set out for themselves, created photographs they are pleased with, and had fun along the way.

For my bro and his friends. If there is one person whose photos and image I hold in the highest regard it's you bro! Your photos/images are seriously awesome man....I think you already know it for I've said it plenty of times before and will continue to say it many more.... You have the innate ability to capture an emotion and sentiment within each one of your images as no one else can...some of your photos I think are priceless; "My princess" is one I consider your very best work. Another is Harvest time, which left me dreaming about Texas...one called "Field of sunflowers" and of course you did one which I consider a tremendous honour..."To my brother...CINEMATIC..........Para mi hermano" I've thought about it many a time... Your personal attention to details, color (yes I said color dude, even though you think of yourself as "color blind" which I think is absurd since you see color from another level) is excellent in its projection. A fantastic sense of composition and style!!. I can go on and on but you and I have already talked about so much of this I just want others to see what I see in your photos...Does it make sense? I think your approach is FANTASTIC! Consider yourself blessed bro...not many have the ability to see what you see and share it so life like and beautifully! I know you are taking a break and we all know the reason and circumstances but...please as soon as it is possible continue on taking and sharing art as only you can do...I shall be waiting for your next set. Please do it for Julia and I.... It is a privilege to have as my bro dude! You're the BEST!!!! A thousand hugs from your bro.... Ricky Brotherly Love

For a great person/friend: I have just joined Flickr (at the suggestion of my fishing buddy John) and still trying to figure out my way through a maze of awesome photos and photographers. I can see some, have spent thousands of dollars in equipment and produced some outstanding work! Yet for me there's something very special about Enrique and his approach to photography; unpretentious and very down to earth. His love for family comes across loud and clear. When I included him as a contact (my second after his brother) never expected other than just a reciprocal answer...yet his help and e-mail communications with him has led me to think of him already as a friend; a real down to earth no strings attached friend! Here's what I wanna say about Enrique; you are one hell of a photographer, person and friend. My best to you your brother and family!!! Your hospitality has to be legendary buddy; you've taking us as if we were part of your family...for someone as myself (lost my parents years ago) only child, it is rewarding and refreshing to count you amongst my very closest friend. The ability to make me feel at ease and treat me as if I were the only person that matter; is something completely different from what I've seen in the past...truly appreciate you Enrique! Hope you enjoyed the surprise Julia John and I had in store for you and Miss Yoli John Maduro Looking forward to meeting you in person!!!
