(2007.9.16) I shoot everything that I can see with anything that I have (these days that often means Nikon D40x or Samsung D900. [UPDATE: lomo lc-a, Olympus 35 RC, Hexar AF, Mamiya RB67, Nikon D300, Nikon F3HP and F3/T, Polaroid Land Camera 195, Fuji GS645 folder, Yashica-Mat 124G, Yashica Electro 35 GSN, Olympus Stylus Epic, Contax T3, Ricoh GRD III. Not including cameras I have but not using enough.])

I try to see better. That and try to finish reading "The Ongoing Moment " (by Geoff Dyer) at the moment.

(And keep it real to myself.)

(2007.10.5) I started out with medium format black and white. When I was in high school my father gave me his old Zeiss 120 folder. I could took 8 6x9 pictures with the camera. It was a lot fun. I enjoyed the whole thing -- guessing the focus distance and exposure, shooting pictures, working in the darkroom... except that I wasn't good.

The problem was that I didn't know what to shoot. I would go to the parks, up the hill, down the river bank filming snow falls while i could do better by seeing what's around me and shoot that. Instead of taking the pictures that were coming at me, I was chasing pictures that weren't there.

That was not wise.

(2007.10.29) Found my old Zeiss Ikon Nettar today while looking for Halloween candles. I misplaced it after many movings. The framed view finder won't stay down anymore (not a new problem) but the compur lens and shutter is still good. Can't believe that I shot hand held with it. This thing vibrates so much when shutter is released.

(2008.11.2) On average more than 1 picture uploaded per day! My art is too easy. :) Something needs to be done to fix it.

Or not.
