One-time professional artist (painter), amateur photographer and - to make a living - finance professional (though recently retired).

I spent 7 years as a landscape painter - having residencies with the National Park Service at Pictured Rocks in Michigan's Upper Peninsula as well as in Arkansas on the Buffalo River. Both were amazing experiences.

In 2007 I had to leave painting as a profession to rebuild my finances - but have had a returning interest in the outdoors and landscape. My primary camera is a recently acquired Nikon D750 (with Tamron 24-70 G2) and I also use a D5200 (for its longer lens). Now retired, landscape photography is a passion and I am practicing and studying how to bring out the best in my photography.

My favorite locations are Lake Superior - which I believe deserves a lot more attention paid to it - along with the mountains in the East and all of the West.
