This is a 66 shot panorama of the Milky Way rising over a cattle farm at Mogumber, a small Wheatbelt farm about 1.5 hours north of Perth in Western Australia.


If you look closely you can see a few cows right on the horizon in the centre of the image. When I arrived there were cows in the middle of the dirt road that had escaped the paddock somehow...welcome to country life I guess :)


Prominent in this image are the Large & Small Magellanic Clouds, just above the light pollution framing the dead tree. Above them is the pink, petal shaped nebula, Carina. Shining brightly in the top centre are the Pointers, Alpha & Beta Centauri, made prominent by some dew that had formed on my lens, acting as a fog filter for one or two shots towards the end.
